Cinanima Animated Film Festival 2016

CINANIMA is an animated film festival organized by NASCENTE Cooperative Cultural Action, CRL together with the City of Espinho, which, since its first edition in 1976, has developed a regular activity in the dissemination of this cinematic form and their authors in what is considered a precursor project of the Portuguese cultural decentralization, having managed to assert itself as an international major event outside the major centers of Lisbon and Porto.

Institutionally, this festival, organized by a non-profit association, is approved by ASIFA – International Association of Animated Film and has the support of the Ministry of Culture / ICA IP – Cinema and Audiovisual Institute, Secretary of State for Youth / Institute Youth Portuguese and sponsorship of several private entities, as well as strategic partnerships for the purpose of dissemination and promotion.

In addition to facilitating contact between industry professionals and between them and the public, CINANIMA has a strong commitment to the training of professionals and the general public, come in recent years to develop a training program in various areas of knowledge linked to the visual arts.

A festival like CINANIMA is not only made films, with numerous exhibitions, performances and other activities that take place during the week. For those who do not have time or availability to follow a full – time festival, and prefers to condense your visit and be served with a good selection, the last day of the festival is dedicated to winning, and features four sessions that are very appreciated by the public in general.
